Head to this paradise of Kochi, and taste the finest melons and watermelons all year round.
With grounds of around 6 ha, Nishijima Horticultural Park is the leading sightseeing garden in Kochi. Coming through the entrance, also a greenhouse, you will see a space with a perfect southern Japanese atmosphere, where tropical plants, such as bright bougainvillea cascading down from the ceiling, are in brilliant full bloom. In the 10 greenhouses, high-quality fruits, melons and watermelons, difficult to manage and needing great care, are cultivated, as well as fruit tomatoes and mangoes. Enjoy the taste and scents at the café in the gardens, as well as the wonderful scene. Notably, you can taste the melons and watermelons all year round, and find yourself excited by the rich sweetness particular to fully ripe fruit! Satisfy yourself with the delicious taste of fruit with a “fruit ticket” (780 yen), and enjoy sweets lavishly decorated with fruits.(This information is as of March 2018)
