Enjoy night views of the Mizushima Coastal Industrial Zone

The swathes of illuminated factories in the Mizushima Coastal Industrial Zone creates a sight akin to a fantasy world. It makes for an unforgettable spectacle.
The best way to get a panoramic view of the industrial zone is to drive along prefectural highway 393 (the Washuzan Koen Route) to the Mizushima observatory. There are also night cruises that pass by the industrial zone on an irregular basis from April through November. Cruises leave from and return to Kojima Sightseeing Port (Kojima Ekimae 3-23, Kurashiki-shi), which is 5 minutes on foot from the JR Kojima Station. The cruises last about 90 minutes. Reservations are required and tickets cost 1800 yen for adults and 900 yen for elementary school students. Note that there are only a limited number of roads open to general traffic within the industrial zone itself.(This information is as of November 2017)
