Café Antenna’s parfaits give you the chance to fully appreciate the charms of seasonal fruits from Okayama Prefecture such as ripe melons cut in dynamic ways, large “shine Muscat” grapes, and white peach. The café is located on the road that leads to Korakuen, one of the “three great gardens of Japan” and Okayama’s most famous sightseeing spot. It is a modern café that retains aspects typical of cafés in the Taisho Period (1912 to 1926), considered to be a magnificent period in which Japanese and Western influences were weaved together. The Izushi Taisho Roman Parfait brings out the natural sweetness of fruit and features white peach jelly, milk gelato, and much more all topped with a scoop of white peach gelato. The decorations on the parfaits are popular for their cuteness, with fan- and heart-shaped wafers and cocktail umbrellas resembling traditional Japanese-style parasols adding a Japanese touch. In summer, the café also serves a parfait with lashings of the Shimizu white peach variety, considered to be the highest quality white peach variety grown in Okayama, and referred to as the “queen of peaches”.
