The Kibiji cycling path, which was selected as one of Japan’s top 100 roads, is packed with highlights along the way. You will be greeted with lotus flowers in spring, sunflowers in summer, cosmoses in autumn, and rapeseed blossoms in winter. Savor the sense of exaltation of cycling this course surrounded by flowers for all four seasons. Idyllic remnants of the ancient past will peep out at you as you make you way along the path, including the mid-5th century Tsukuriyama kofun (ancient burial mound), Bicchu Kokubunji Temple with an origin in the 8th century (Nara Period), and a 35-meter-high five-story pagoda.
