Visit the Hiroshima Orizuru Tower to feel Hiroshima’s past, present, and future.
Fold your own origami crane and send it gently fluttering down the inside of a 12-story-high transparent wall. From the open-air rooftop lookout space you can survey Hiroshima City and see out to the Seto Inland Sea and the mountains that lie beyond the city, and on fine days it’s even possible to admire the beauty of the silhouette of Miyajima Island. It is also the only place where you can view the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park from above.
The Hiroshima Orizuru Tower, which is compound facilities of a 12-story-high+rooftop deck, gives you the opportunity to get a feeling for Hiroshima’s past, present, and future. After relaxing at the café and buying souvenirs, it’s nice to go up to the rooftop deck to sit down and simply gaze out at the view and contemplate.(This information is as of November 2017)
Folding origami cranes from paper is a uniquely Japanese tradition, and while making them, people keep certain others in their thoughts and make wishes for their wellbeing.
