A 100-year-old teashop was renovated to create this guesthouse and café/bar. The building is perched on a stone foundation by road near the summit of a hill from where you can blissfully take in the views of Onomichi, a city that from high up resembles a miniature garden and that has received a “Japan Heritage” designation. The first floor of the building is a café/bar focused on drinks. The guesthouse is on the second floor. The views of Onomichi meld into the surrounding natural scenery of Seto Inland Sea area. Onomichi with its mazelike alleys and steep lanes and the historic shrines, gardens, and houses that line them create scenes that resemble a miniature garden. Enjoy not only the stunning views, but also the chance to luxuriously unwind in an elegant building that is registered as one of Japan’s “Registered Tangible Cultural Properties”.
