For scenery, for space, for hospitality: a traditional Japanese-style house inn in a mountain village, where you can feel real comfort

Spend a special time here, in this inn in the sky 400 meters above sea level, where the terraced rice-fields extend before you.

This inn is located on the top of a mountain, 400 meters above sea level, close to the terraced rice fields of Kamimomi, which were chosen as one of Japan’s top 100 terraced rice fields. In the midst of this original Japanese landscape, this inn welcomes you with the kind hospitality of your hosts, a potter and his wife, who is a former flight attendant. This space, with beams and pillars made of old wood and striking earthen walls mixed with straw, is both massive and filled with warmth. It is composed of guestrooms, consisting of Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats and bedrooms with wooden floors, as well as a café that can also be used by visitors. The food you will receive here is Japanese cuisine made using the inn’s home-grown vegetables and local ingredients, and you can also drink in the expanse of terraced rice fields beneath you. After your meal, gaze at the star-filled sky and find yourself soothed by the chirping of the birds. Guests from all over the world come to this inn, seeking a blissful time where they can experience another world in the sky.(This information is as of April 2018)
