A roughly 5,000m2 contemporary art garden that suddenly shows itself in the grounds of a temple. The garden consists of 11 sections, including the Komei no To (Tower of Hope), which resembles hands joined in prayer facing the sun as it sets in the west, Kaze no Shiki (winds of the four seasons ), which represents the winds of the changing seasons, and Soyokaze no Michi (breezy road). Each of the sections achieve a beautiful harmony with the sky, clouds, wind, rain, light and other aspects of the surrounding natural environment. Despite it being located on the grounds of a Buddhist temple, the garden creates a fantastical scene that seems reminiscent of far-distant lands, somewhat akin to the villages of the Greek island of Santorini. From the top of the hill visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the town of Setoda below. It is also the perfect spot to photograph the harmonious collaboration between the bright white hill and the surrounding Japanese countryside scenery. (This information is as of November 2017)
