Adding a new kind of value to jeans.
For those who already appreciate the charms of well-worn used jeans, this shop provides more in-depth backstories about each pair.
The jeans displayed in this long and narrow industrial space are tagged with professions such as “potter” and “fisher”. The used jeans sold at this shop have been worn and “nurtured” for 12 months as workpants by people working in the town. The jeans have an invaluable individuality and natural fading that cannot be achieved through mechanical processing.
The used jeans are priced between \20,000 and \40,000 and are all one-of-a- kind. New jeans are also available in two different styles costing \23,760 (tax incl.) and \27,000 (tax incl.) respectively. (This information is as of November 2017)
Bingo-kasuri (a kind of traditional ikat fabric from the Bingo region, part of modern-day Hiroshima Prefecture) is considered one of the three great kasuri fabrics of Japan. The dyeing and weaving techniques fostered through the production of Bingo-katsuri are fully utilized today in the creation of high-quality denim in the Bingo region. Every step in the production of the jeans sold at the shop, from the weaving of the denim to the sewing of each pair, is carried out in factories in the Bingo region.
