Five craft shops are gathered here in one location selling tenugui hand towels, crockery, green tea, hats, canvas and denim goods, and glassware. You can also watch artisans at work in the shops, and by pressing stamps onto tenugui hand towels featuring Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter patterns, you can create your own original tenugui. You can also try creating distressed denim luncheon mats and other such activities. Tenugui are cotton hand towels that are also used in similar ways to kerchiefs and face towels. The fact that they can be folded up compactly makes them ideal souvenirs. There is a tearoom on the second floor where you can enjoy authentic matcha tea. Experience for yourself the craftwork of Kurashiki, where traditional Japanese culture is being refined into something new and stylish. (This information is as of November 2017)
