Enjoy a blissful time at this café while feeling refreshed by gentle breezes that bring tidings of the four seasons
Time flows slowly at this café, where you can enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese house while relaxing amidst the sounds of a gentle babbling river and glossy lush greenery. The café is a restored Japanese house on the banks of a river that flows from Kurashiki’s Sakazu Park; a famous spot for cherry blossoms. The “engawa” (a type of verandah that is a common feature of traditional Japanese houses) juts out above the river and the pleasant breezes that blow in over the river allow guests to feel the flowing of the seasons. The scenery offers a range of different ambiences depending on which part of the café you sit in. Here you can enjoy freshly prepared sweets such as seasonal fruit parfaits as well as breakfasts of curry, store-baked bread, and salad and more.(This information is as of November 2017)
The daily cake set is from 800 yen. The cake on this day was amazake cheesecake.
The specialty fruity “Miyake curry” is 900 yen. (10:30-when it is sold out). It is topped with seasonal vegetables depending on the time of year. On this occasion, Kurashiki’s specialty Tsurajima burdock was available.
