An exquisite balance of mild white miso saltiness and the sweetness of refined an-mochi (rice cakes with sweet red bean paste)
Zoni is a traditional soup eaten in Japan on New Year’s Day to welcome the New Year, but here you can enjoy the sweet Kagawa traditional dish an-mochi zoni throughout the year. Zoni is made with the main ingredient of mochi (rice cake) as well as other ingredients like vegetables, fish, and broth seasonings that differ depending on the location. Kagawa features a rare version of zoni in Japan, because it swaps the usual simple white mochi for mochi with sweet red bean paste (anko) inside, finished with white miso. In addition to an-mochi zoni, you can also enjoy a selection of about 30 kinds of Japanese sweets such as zenzai (sweet red bean soup) and Japanese-style parfaits.
